Play golf for a good cause

The 12th annual Make-a-Wish Foundation of South Dakota golf tournament will take place at Minnehaha Country Club on July 23 beginning at 11:30 pm. Fees are $600 per person or $2400 for a foursome. All proceeds will go towards the Make-a-Wish Foundation.

In addition to the golf, there will be a best ball tournament, a dinner, silent and live auctions, celebrity guests, and a presentation by Make-a-Wish kids and their families. June and July seems like the time for golf tournaments, with every Chamber of Commerce seemingly having one planned. This tournament is different in that it is raising money for a charitable foundation rather than a Chamber of Commerce.

While this is raising money for a charitable organization, there will also be the chance to network with fellow Sioux Falls business peers while playing golf. Those who plan to attend the tournament would be wise to bring a business card. Printing extras will ensure you have enough to hand out to those you meet on the golf course and at dinner. There will, of course, be no selling but discussion will likely turn to business at one point and there is no harm in exchanging business cards, so liaising with a print company beforehand may be wise.

The Make-a-Wish Foundation helps to grant wishes to children who are suffering from incurable conditions, both terminal and congenital. Kids have had their wishes granted for such dreams as trips to Disneyworld, meeting their favorite celebrity, or taking part in a professional sporting event. It is an extremely worthwhile organization.
