Platform to Employment (P2E), a program designed to assist military veterans and individuals over the age of 50 in finding employment, is scheduled to come to the cincinnati area early next year.

Residents of Lebanon, which is located just to the northeast of Cincinnati, are invited to attend the program, which will begin in January. Cincinnati was selected as one of four cities in the United States to be included in the expansion on the P2E program, which is part of ‘The Workplace’, based in Connecticut. The other three cities included in the expansion are San Diego, Dallas, and chicago. In addition to these four, six more cities will be added in the future.

The program features a five-week course that includes workshops on writing resumes, preparing for interviews, self-marketing strategies, family and personal support services, and financial counseling. Those individuals participating in the program are matched with possible employers with available job openings. Employers hiring individuals through this program are given an eight-week time period to evaluate the employees, during which wages are paid by The WorkPlace.

Programs such as P2E may be advertised to those in the community and surrounding area by means of poster printing or flyer printing. Brochure printers may also be utilized by such programs to provide participants with necessary information regarding the program.

The local coordinating agency for the program is the Southwest Ohio Region Workforce Investment Board. Details about the program, including the launch date, are still being arranged at present.
