Grandview library hosts 28th indoor concert series

March 7, 2018 by

The Grandview-Heights Public Library will be opening its 28th Annual Music in the Atrium series in a couple of weeks. This series offers free spring concerts on Thursday evenings in March, April and May.

This year’s opening concert will be The Sandy Tar Brothers. Their music is old-time bluegrass. Some of their standby songs include Monkey in the Dogcart, Buddies in the Saddle, Long Gone, Belle of Lexington, the Crawfish Song and Highland Laddie.

The Ohio Hispanic Fine Arts Association will be presenting Trio Flautango for the second concert. This will be Latino, classical and chamber music and will feature Sean Ferguson on guitar, Rodolfo Vazquez on the flute with vocals by Connie Andrade.

Fox N Hounds will be the third concert. This trio composed of two vocalists-one of which plays bass, and the other plays both banjo and mandolin- and an acoustic guitar artist. These guys blend traditional bluegrass with progressive new grass timing. Some of their songs are Wide River to Cross, The Game, Modern outlaw and One More Dollar.

Fans of these groups may check their websites and talk with members themselves to see if they have any promotional products for sale.

Concerts will be on Thursdays and will start at 7 pm in the Grandview Public Library’s Atrium, 1685 W. First Ave. Columbus. The Sandy Tar Brothers will play March 16; Trio Flautango will be on April 12 and Fox N Hounds will be May 10.
