R.L Wurz Co. is a small business in West Park, but it is preparing to make a big impact on Cleveland and the surrounding area, including Fairview Park, which is located southwest of the city. Currently, the firm employs only 10 individuals in small showroom and warehouse on Enterprise Parkway, but the company has future plans that should dramatically expand the size of the business and create a number of office and warehouse positions. On February 9, the firm broke ground for the expansion, which is estimated to be around $300,000. The new expansion incorporates a 5,500 square foot area and is expected to be completed by May, according to R.L Wurz’s president, Tom Lavelle.

As local small businesses expand in the area to draw in more business and create more jobs, a greater demand for printing services in the area may also result. Individuals stepping into newly created jobs may require business card printing, stationery printing and a variety of other services that can be provided by local print companies.

The R.L Wurz Co. was one of the first businesses to locate in the industrial park on Enterprise Avenue in 1933. Ray L Wurz first opened the company as a distributer of architectural panels and glass. Over the years, it has expanded to include a wide variety of construction products, such as sealants, architectural panels, waterproofing and numerous other supplies, which it sells to commercial builders and contractors. The company does not sell to residential customers.
