Colerain community group among the first group of Game Changers

The Community Press and Recorder, a Colerain area newspaper, has named its first ever class of ‘Game Changers’.

Among them is a Greater Northbrook, a community organization that has been getting together for little more than a year to plan various events and programs.

The group came together after a meeting with residents of Northbrook and officials from Colerain Township. Members of the group sought out the officials’ advice for improving their community’s image.

Community organizations often use poster and flyer printing to get the word out about their events and plans. In the case of Greater Northbrook, the group also sought the support of township officials, who helped to put together and facilitate their meetings.

Along with meetings, the organization put together a series of events. Some of these focused on improved aspects of the neighborhood, such as clean-ups, while other focused on improving the safety of the area. A few of the group’s programs have been just for fun and community-building. Among those were Northbrook’s Got Game, which is a festival to be held in the fall.

Other events in the pipeline include Paint the Township, which will take place in the summer. During the event, houses in Northbrook will be given a new coat of paint, thanks to the efforts of the group’s members.
