Fountain Square ice rink to open on Thanksgiving Day

The highly anticipated ice rink at Fountain Square in Cincinnati will open on Thanksgiving Day. The ice rink, a traditional fixture during the holiday seasons at Fountain Square, will be under construction until Monday, November 19 and will officially open on Thursday, November 22.

The rink is situated right at the center of all activity in the newly redesigned Fountain Square area and skaters will be able to enjoy a view of the fountain. It measures approximately 7,000 square feet, which is a similar size to the famous ice rink at the famous Rockefeller Center in New York City.

As Fountain Square constructs its traditional ice rink and gets ready for the holiday season, many businesses in and around the square are also anticipating the holiday crowds that will be frequenting the area. Stores typically begin running special promotions and advertisements at this time, using local print companies to provide banner printing, flyer printing, and other printing services to announce special holiday deals and activities. Holiday catalog printing may also be required by some.

Amenities at the ice skating rink will include lockers, skate rental, a heated tent, and benches. Drinks and snacks will be available at vending machines located within the tent. Sweets and hot drinks can also be obtained from Ingredients, which is across the street, or Graeter’s Confectionary on the square. Skaters may also choose to stop in for a bite to eat at one of the many restaurants in the area, including Rock Bottom Brewery, Potbelly Sandwich Works, Via Vita, and many others.
