Plenty of outdoor events to take place in Omaha this July

Now that the warmer weather seems to be here to stay, most people want to get outside and have fun. There are at least three events taking place in the Omaha area that will give residents the chance to celebrate summer.

Riverfest is an outdoor street festival taking place for two days in Bellevue. The festival features a barbecue competition, a children’s zone, an Iron Chef contest, live music, and fireworks. It also features hot air balloons and a 5K run. Vendors will also be on hand to sell their merchandise. The festival will take place from July 19-20 at the American Heroes Park. Admission is $1. Gretna Days takes place for three days in July. It is a presentation of the Gretna Chamber of Commerce and will feature food for sale, games, a parade, and a tractor pull. There will also be fireworks displays, a car show, and various sporting activities to take part in. Gretna Days is taking place at various venues from July 19-21. Admission is free. Downtown Play Streets will close off several streets in Omaha for one day. One of those streets will be on Farnam Street from 13th to 19th Streets. The streets will be transformed into a play space that will feature rock climbing, cooking demonstrations, and fitness events. A main stage will provide day-long entertainment.
