Hike opens this weekend at St. Joe State Park

Residents of St. Peters, Missouri and anyone else who wish to attend, are invited for a hiking experience at St. Joe State Park on April 28th and May 26th. St. Joe State Park is just 8 miles outside of St. Peters. The hiking experience, which will be an all-day event, will take hikers through various paths of Park Hills in St. Joe State Park. The park has utilized flyer printing to encourage public awareness of this event, and the information is available online as well.

The event is being sponsored by the Missouri State Parks and the cost to attend is free. The hikes are being held from 9 in the morning until 3 pm on both dates – April 28th and May 26th. The hiking event is not just for hikers, but for those nature enthusiasts looking to get in some exercise while enjoying the exquisite settings of the park’s beauties and natural wonders.

However, the trek is not for the faint-hearted. The hike is “no walk in the park” in that the hiking trail spans some 5 miles. This is done on a partly paved bicycle path and wooded horse trail before wading in Harris Bran Creek for about a quarter of a mile. As such, the hike is not recommended for those of the age of 10 or under or anyone experiencing health problems. Potential hikers are encouraged to register and bring water and old tennis shoes to participate in the hike.
