Public meeting to lead the way

March 4, 2013 by

The Missouri Department of Transportation will hold an informational meeting at the end of the month to answer citizens’ questions about the upcoming Route 364 Phase 3 construction.

Poster printing and displays will allow the public to visualize the planned changes, with a broad outline for the entire corridor and greater detail for important interchanges. Project engineers will be on hand to informally answer any questions. There is no formal presentation planned, just a casual three-hour Q&A session. Interested parties are invited to the St. Charles Community College Rotunda, 4601 Mid Rivers Mall Drive, Cottlesville, from the hours 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm.

Phase 3’s planned construction involves an entirely new limited access four-lane highway stretching from the I-64/East Highway N juncture to the Highway 94/Mid Rivers Mall Directional Interchange, where it will link with the previously completed Phase 2.

Four interchanges, including a full cloverleaf at the I-64 junction and simpler crossings at Bryan Road, Route K, and Mall River Drive will provide north-south access. Other improvements include additional lanes added to Route K near the new highway, and various design measures to facilitate future expansion.

Page Constructors Joint Venture was selected by the Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission to design and build this third and final stage of Route 364 for $118.2m.

When completely finished this fall, Route 364 will stretch from I-64 in Lake Saint Louis to I-270 in Maryland Heights. Begun in December 2003 and scheduled for completion this November, Route 364 is expected to serve foreseeable traffic needs until 2040.

The meeting will be held on March 26.
