Action packed festival turns 60

June 20, 2013 by

The New Melle Festival is celebrating its 60th year in 2013 and invites families to come down and participate later this week.

As part of this landmark celebration, there will be a number of commemorative and special events for people to attend and enjoy. The carnival has been booked and an armband special will be available on Thursday evening from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm, as well as Friday from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm and Saturday, all afternoon and evening.

On Friday evening, entertainment will be by Hillbilly Authority and Whiskey Dixon, who will be performing from 8:00 pm to midnight. Aaron Lane and Ronnie Schneider will entertain live in the beer garden Saturday afternoon. The Queen’s dinner will be held at 6:00 pm for all past queens of this festival to attend, plus there will be a special float in the parade this year. A full schedule of the events can be located online.

Thursday evening is family evening, so there will be no beer gardens, as the aim of the day is to promote family games and activities. Brochure printing, poster printing, and business card printing may have been used to organize this year’s festival for this community and the surrounding communities.

Admission is $2 on Thursday, or $5 on Friday and Saturday. Carnival armbands are purchased separately. It will all take place at the New Melle Sports and Recreation Center located at 4700 Highway Z in Wentzville, Missouri, just a short drive from St. Ann.
