Rock Show Academy will be auditioning children of ages 8 to 18 in January for a stage version of Disney’s Academy-Award winning classic ‘Beauty and the Beast’. This junior version will have all of the original songs written by Howard Ashman and Alan Menken, as well as new songs by Tim Rice and Mr. Menken.

The newest performing arts school in St. Louis, Rock Show Academy, has been around since 2011 and focuses on Musical Theatre and rock band presentation. With its motto ‘Life is a stage. Be prepared’, the production promises to be an opportunity for budding performers to gain music and theater experience taught by professional theatre directors and musicians. Proud parents of the upcoming stars may want to put in flyer printing orders to send to grandparents, relatives, friends, and coworkers.

Auditions for the musical will be held Thursday, January 23, 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm. Rehearsals will be held every Thursday evening, 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm beginning Thursday, February 6. There will be three performances of the show, first on May 2 at 7:00 pm, and then again on May 3 at 2:00 pm and 7:00 pm.

The academy will also be holding auditions for Disney’s ‘101 Dalmatians’ on Tuesday, January 21 for children ages 5-14. Rehearsals will be on Tuesdays from 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm starting February 4. Performances will take place at the same times and dates as with Beauty and the Beast.

Rehearsals and performances will be held at Rock Show Academy, 8809 Gravois Rd, St Louis.
