Comic book celebration returns to St. Paul for spring

April 6, 2014 by

The Midwest Comic Book Association is presenting the Springcon Comic Book Celebration for two days this May in St. Paul.

Over 250 comic book creators are expected to be on hand for the event, including such artists and writers as Dan Jurgens, Nadja Baer, and Bill Hauser. There will be free discussion panels, autograph sessions, and displays. Local community groups will be providing information, comic book stores will be selling merchandise, and several fan groups (such as the Klingon Assault Group) may be soliciting new members.

There will also be a costume parade, a charity fundraiser, and costumed characters from a number of comic books, science fiction television shows and movies will be wandering around. The NiCoral Arkham Carnival will offer games, art displays, and prizes.

The convention will be advertising widely in the St. Paul using such products as flyers and posters. Oftentimes, local stationery printers are asked to provide these, as they are inexpensive and can easily be distributed quickly and for little extra cost.

The Springcon Comic Book Celebration is taking place at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds from May 17 to 18 from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm. Admission is $10 and free for those aged nine and under, and those who bring a canned non-perishable food item will get $1 off. To learn more visit the official website.
