Get the kids active with the chicken run

Georgia’s Chicken Run/Walk will take place at the Deanna Rose Children’s Farmstead on July 28 from 7:30 am – 10 am. Tickets are $15 in advance or $20 after July 18. Everyone taking part will receive a gift bag, a t-shirt, and a medal.

The event will feature lots of children’s activities, carnival style games, and free gifts. All in attendance can also look forward to learning how to do the chicken dance with Chelsea Chicken. Overland Park businesses will be providing free promotional items for giveaway and for the gift bags, so it is likely that local printing companies will be helping them design and print those items. This is a win-win situation because people love to get things for free and it brings recognition of the businesses and their brand at the same time.

To make for as fair and varied a contest as possible, there are several divisions in the Chicken Run/Walk and each division has separate boys and girls races except for the baby walk and the adults. Awards and trophies will be given to the winners of each division, with the awards presentation beginning at 9:45 am.

Many people complain these days that their children are not getting enough exercise and it can often be hard to get them out of the house and away from the computer or games console. Events such as this present exercise in a fun way. Everyone gets to compete, everyone receives something and it is a fun outing for the entire family to enjoy.
