The upscale steakhouse, Ruth’s Chris, is relocating. It was reported this month that the restaurant will be leaving its Threel Road location for the anchor spot in the Ironworks at Keystone project in Indianapolis, Indiana, scheduled to open in May 2014.

The project is located on the southwest corner of East 86th Street and Keystone Avenue, and began construction just last month.

The Ironworks at Keystone is a mixed-use development that comprises retail and residential spaces. Overall, the center features 147,313 square feet suitable for leasing. There are retail spaces, including Ruth’s Chris, on the first floor, while the second through fifth floors are comprised of 120 luxurious loft-type apartments. Ironworks at Keystone sits on approximately six acres of land, and has 155 parking spaces in its underground garage, to be used by both visitors and residents.

Ruth’s Chris’s new restaurant will occupy 16,500 square feet on two levels, and will be able to accommodate up to 470 guests. Ruth’s Chris is managed by Hoosier Hospitality Group, which also handles Another Broken Egg Cafes. Larry Griggers, Hoosier Hospitality’s CEO, said the decision to move was made only after long and careful consideration. The management company feels that the new location will better serve existing patrons, and draw new ones to the steakhouse.

Ruth’s Chris management, together with Ironworks developers, could work with brochure printers to develop a piece to distribute to potential tenants, highlighting the benefits of relocating to Ironworks and indicating the popularity of Ruth’s Chris as a draw to bring in customers.
