Clay the way forward in Warrenville

February 27, 2014 by

Taking place tomorrow, the 3rd Annual Clay National Juried Ceramics Exhibition Opening Reception is the start of a biennial exhibition of functional ceramic items and sculptures, with pieces displayed in cubes of sizes up to 12” x 12”.

This exhibition is presented by a non-profit organization. Brochure printing and poster printing might have been the methods used to spread the word about this exhibit to people in this community, as well as in the surrounding areas.

This exhibition consists of 50 pieces of ceramic art, and these are to be assigned prices by the nationally renowned Kurt Weiser from Temp Arizona, a ceramic artist. Artists from across the United States have accepted the challenge and have entered pieces to be juried.

This exhibition will run throughout the month of March and features some high-caliber ceramic creations that are worth viewing. The exhibit is a collaboration from the City of Warrenville, the Warrenville Public Library, and the City of Warrenville Hotel Motel Tax Grant. Workshops will be provided by local guest artists, including Susan Delaney, Neil Estrick, Cory McCrory, Nancy Gardner, and Deb LeAir.

Admission is free to everyone and the display offers an opportunity to learn more about clay work. The reception will be held on Friday, February 28, from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the Warrenville Public Library District located at 28w751 Stafford Place in Warrenville, Illinois. To find out more about this event, visit the Warrenville Library website or call the branch at 630-393-1171.
