Classic cars rev into Berwyn

The 22nd Historic Route 66 Car Show will take place on Ogden Avenue, between Oak Park and Ridgeland Avenues, on September 8, beginning at 7:00 am. This is a free event, presented by the Berwyn Development Corporation and sponsored by WeatherTech. Approximately 10,000 visitors are expected to attend.

Hundreds of classic cars will be on display at the show. The fees to register a car are $30 before September 2 and $40 afterwards. Those who register will receive a T-shirt, goodie bag, and dash plaque. They can also compete for dozens of awards, including Best of Show, Head Judges Award, Way Cool, Slick and Smooth, Sexy Sedan, Tremendous Truck, and One Fine Deuce.

In addition to cars, there will be food concessions and vendors selling car-related merchandise. Vendors from all over the area, including nearby Oak Park, are very likely to be working in conjunction with local printing companies to prepare for the event. Arranging for banner printing services could help their booth to stand out from the others and flyer printing will allow them to let their customers know that they will be taking part in this very popular event.

Route 66 is one of the most famous highways in the United States and originally stretched from Chicago to Los Angeles. It has since been replaced by the Interstate Highway System, although some areas have designated parts of the highway as ‘Historic Route 66’. The car show sounds like a good way to pay tribute to this piece of American history.
