Opportunity to support access to the arts in Chicago

Those who are dedicated to promoting the arts should make sure you don’t miss the Art for All Gala which is taking place in Chicago in about a week. The gala is a fundraiser for Urban Gateways.

Urban Gateways is an organization that provides access to the arts for students in Kindergarten through Grade 12. Among the programs that they provide is an artists’ residency, workshops for children, professional development seminars for teachers, and outreach programs that visit area schools. Last year’s gala raised almost $250,000.

Guests will be treated to cocktails, dinner, entertainment, and live and silent auctions. Entertainment will include a performance by members of Chicago Improv’s 20th Century Players and a percussion show by students of the EPIC Academy. It sounds like a great way to raise funds for such a worthy organization.

No doubt businesses from all over the area, including nearby Morton Grove, will be donating items for the auctions. They can help publicize their donations by working with local printing companies to design and print a flyer. The flyer can then be sent out to their customers telling them about the gala, which will have the double benefit of making the company look good and encouraging others to attend the event.

The Art for All gala will take place at the City Winery Chicago on March 8, beginning at 6:00 PM. Tickets are $300 each or $3,000 for a table of 10. For more information, call 312-922-0440.
