Free conference for caregivers in Northbrook

March 26, 2014 by

The Caregiver Conference is taking place this April in Northbrook.

It is aimed at educating care givers in how to take care of themselves while looking after another one. The conference is set to feature over 30 tables of information provided by local non-profit organizations and those who provide programs and services to seniors in the community.

In addition, there will be six presentations and a panel discussion, which will feature social service agencies, speakers, and caregivers. Some of the topics of the presentations at the conference are expected to include ‘Retirement planning: rebounding in a changing world’, ‘Caring for the caregiver’ and ‘Advocating for families in a changing healthcare climate’. Breakfast and lunch will be provided for all attendees free of charge.

The organizations that are providing information to those in attendance will likely come from all over the area, including nearby Morton Grove. Many of them may also have considered contacting local stationery printing companies to provide them with printed materials, such as brochures and flyers, which they can then hand out to those who stop by their tables.

The Caregiver Conference is taking place at the Accelerated Center in Northbrook on April 5 from 9:00 am – 2:00 pm. This is a free event and pre-registration is required. Please call 847-462-0885 to register or to find out more information.
