Major networking event returns to McHenry

March 25, 2014 by

The annual McHenry Scramble, a networking event hosted by the McHenry Chamber of Commerce, is only a month away.

This event is called a “progressive” luncheon. Guests will move to a different table for each of the three courses; appetizer, entry, and dessert. This way, everyone should meet at least 25 people during the afternoon.

Guests who register in advance will be sent three questions they are expected to answer during the Scramble. Everyone at the table will give their answers and everyone gets three minutes to do so.

Prior to the lunch, it is recommended that people arrive at least 45 minutes before it is served, so that they have the opportunity to network with peers and exchange digital business cards. There will also be a prize draw from collected business cards after lunch.

Organizers are suggesting that those planning to attend should bring at least 100 cards to exchange before and during lunch. Many will likely have already placed business card printing orders from their favorite McHenry print company.

The McHenry Scramble will be held at the McHenry Country Club on April 25 from 11:00 am – 2:15 pm. Tickets are $25 for chamber members or $40 for non-members. If a member brings a guest, it will only cost the member and guest $20 each to attend. Call 815-385-9142 for more information.
