Local organizations to benefit from pair of weekend events

September 29, 2013 by

Next Saturday will see two very different, but both important, fundraising events in the McHenry area.

The first event to take place will be the Halloween Picnic and Fun Show hosted by the Hooved Animal Humane Society based in Woodstock. The Society helps to rehabilitate formerly abused horses, sheep, and other farm animals.

The day will feature plenty of food, musical performances, a beer and wine garden, wagon rides, farm tours, and vendors. Guests will also be able to take several horseriding classes for $5 each, and there will also be a performance by the Midwest Renegades. Animals from the McHenry County Animal Shelter will be available for adoption throughout the day.

The other event, taking place later that evening in Crystal Lake, is the Stargazers Ball. The ball raises funds for the Raue Center for the Arts. It will feature appetizers, cocktails, and a live auction. Musical entertainment will be provided by the Anthony Kawalkowski Orchestra.

Printing companies in the McHenry have likely been asked to provide such items as tickets or flyers for advertising both of these events.

The Halloween Picnic and Fun Show will take place on October 5 from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm. Admission is $5 or free to those aged 10 or younger. Interested folk can call 815-337-5563 to learn more.

The Stargazers Ball is taking place at the Raue Center for the Arts on the same day, beginning at 7:00 pm. Tickets are $150 per person. For more information, call 815-356-9212.
