Goodwill resource room opening in McHenry

September 21, 2017 by

The Goodwill store in McHenry, Illinois will soon be receiving its own community resource room due to a donation made to the Goodwill of Northern Illinois by the McHenry County Community Foundation.

Much like the community resource room that is currently open at the Goodwill in DeKalb, the one in McHenry will give nearby residents access to facilities such as job fairs, computers, workshops, résumé help, and printing services. Along with all this, businesses from McHenry will be working together with the community resource room to provide workshops and hiring events that pertain to local positions close to the Goodwill.

Dana Martin, the Goodwill manager of employment services, made this statement about the upcoming resource room:

“The benefit is that it’s a free service. The room will be open all day, and people can come in if they need help with resumes or applying to positions. … I hope to have it open by the end of September or the 1st of October.”

The intended hours for the resource center are from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm daily from Monday through Friday.

Goodwill is a non-profit organization working in counties throughout the north of Illinois and the south of Wisconsin. For more information regarding the current Goodwill location in McHenry, go to the Goodwill of Northern Illinois website.
