Enjoy a d’Vine affair

The 11th annual d’Vine Affair will take place at the Union League Club of Chicago on January 29 from 2-6 pm. This event has been described as ‘Chicago’s premier wine tasting event.’ Tickets are $125 per person and proceeds go to Catholic Charities’ self-sufficiency programs. Guests can pay an extra $50 to receive a pre-tasting tour from 1-2 pm. Guests can also pay an additional $45 to attend a dinner at Quartino from 5-8:30 pm.

The d’Vine affair presents the wines of over 50 vintners from all over the world. There will also be hors d’oeuvres and desserts to savor. The event also presents two wine-appreciation seminars led by Patrick W. Fegan and Bob Bansberg and a silent auction featuring wines, accessories and dining packages.

Local businesses in the Chicago area such as Lyons are being asked to sponsor this worthy event. Sponsorship plans range from $125 for a quarter page ad in the program book that will be created by local printing companies for the event to $25,000. The $25,000 level gives you naming rights, your name and logo on all printed materials, a full page ad and the chance to present give-aways to attendees.

Catholic Charities’ Self-sufficiency programs are not handouts but hand ups; they help people who want to help themselves. Some of their programs are transitional shelters, Forever Free which provides residential care for women recovering from drug addiction, and the New Hope apartments which house the homeless for up to 24 months while providing help such as job training, child care assistance and rental assistance.
