Apple picking event has family fun at its core

The Apple Picking at Jonamac Orchard event takes place in the country outside Countryside, Illinois next week and promises to be a fruitful family outing with something for everyone.

Jonamac Orchards consists of more than 80 acres of rich growing land and is a great place for the family to spend a day. Harvest season begins on this farm in August with a large selection of pick-your-own apples and other crops. The orchard has more than 7,000 trees to choose from.

The fun-packed activity takes place on Tuesday, September 18 and includes lunch, which will start at 11:30am at the Young at Heart (YAH) Adult Daycare Center. Transportation leaves the YAH facility about 12:00 pm and will be returning around 5:00 pm, will a free snack provided en route. There is pick-up for private residents from their homes, so all interested people have to do is call 708-299-4364 and speak with the activity director, with a $2 charge per person for the service. The home pickup will begin around 10:00 am. It requires a minimum of 20 people and registration in advance is compulsory.

Flyer printing may have been used to promote this exciting family U-Pick opportunity to families in the area. Admission to the apple picking opportunity is $35 per person.
