Gurnee residents to celebrate the summer with festival

People across Illinois are preparing for four days of fun with the Gurnee Days Celebration coming to the area later this week.

The event marks the 41st consecutive year for the festival and the celebratory theme will be “Dancing in the Streets”. Attendees will have the chance to experience everything from teen pool parties to amusement rides.

Organizers have used poster printing and banner printing services to raise publicity around the occasion, with eye-catching materials utilized to attract the attention of passers-by.

During the event, guests will enjoy a number of activities, including a bicycle rodeo, a summer concert, a farmers’ market, the Gurnee Idol contest competition, and a crazy golf tournament. There will also be a 10K race, a rib eating contest, plenty of live entertainment, and a fireworks display.

While children enjoy the petting zoo and face-painting stalls, parents will have the opportunity to enjoy the on-site car show, which has been a popular feature throughout the event’s history.

This celebration is organized by the Gurnee Days Corporation and funded through the donations of the area’s businesses and organizations. A $1 amusement ride coupon is being offered online.

Admission to the Gurnee Days Celebration is free, although some ride tickets should be purchased separately. The festival will be starting on Thursday, August 8 and will finish on Sunday August 11. It will take place at Viking Park, which is located at 4374 Old Grand Avenue. To check the schedule of events, visit the event’s website or call 847-623-7788.
