Jazzy quartet to get winter program underway

November 10, 2013 by

The first installment of this year’s Winter Concert Series will see some of The Rick Haydon Quartet’s latest jazz numbers. Posters, brochures, and digital flyer printing were most likely used to promote this year’s series to music-loving people in Edwardsville and the surrounding regions.

As a Professor of Music at the Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE), Haydon is the director of the jazz guitar ensemble and head of the university’s guitar program. Recently, he released a new piece entitled ‘Just Friends’ through Mel Bay Records. Joined by John Pizzarelli, the release reached 19th spot on the Top 100 charts of Jazz Week.

During this performance, catered hors d’oeuvres will be supplied through the Edwardsville Parks Department. These are included in the price of the tickets and will be served on the third floor and seating will be available in the Marquee Room located on the second floor from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm, while the hors d’oeuvers last.

Ticket prices vary depending on the seating selected, although those who purchase tickets to all five concerts in this series will receive $1 off each ticket. The Rick Haydon Quartet will be making its mark on Friday, November 15, with the doors opening at 6:00 pm at the Wildey Theatre in Edwardsville, Illinois. To purchase tickets to this concert or the series, to find out more about either, or to see other upcoming acts, visit the theater’s website or call its box office at 618-307-2053.
