Get smart with art in Edwardsville

June 5, 2012 by

On Friday, June 8 and Saturday, June 9, the Route 66 Fine Art Fair will be taking place in Edwardsville City Park located at 101 South Buchanan Street in Edwardsville, Illinois. Friday’s programme runs from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm and Saturday’s from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm.

This Route 66 Fine Art Fair is celebrating its 15th anniversary this year in City Park. This two-day festival will feature a variety of activities in which families can participate, including live entertainment, music, a classic car show and cruise, great food, and a number of artisans and their work. During the fair, artists will provide hands-on demonstration of how they create their artwork or craft. There will be illustrated talks and seminars to explain the process to guests in attendance at the fair.

Artisans at the event will include work in pottery, weaving, wood, metal, glass, leather, fabric, painting, photography, graphics, and other mediums on show for the thousands of visitors attracted by the event each year.

Artists juried into the fair as part of this festive event must have been over the age of 16, working in contemporary or traditional arts or crafts, and have submitted up to three images of their work with an application form and a $50 registration fee. These fine pieces of art, as well as crafts, were then judged on craftsmanship, design, and creativity.

Stationery printing services were probably used to record the information about this event by the organizers. Admission to the Route 66 Fine Art Fair is free to everyone. For additional information, please visit the Route 66 Fine Art Fair website or call 618-692-7538.
