The 33rd Annual Quilt Fest has much to offer those interested in hand-made ways to stave off the winter chill.

At this year’s event, the ‘Aunt Grace’s Garden Party’ quilt that measures 77” x 83” will be raffled off. This quilt was completed using traditional English paper piercing with tickets selling for $1 each or six for $5.

Guest speaker, Maria Elkins will present a talk on ‘Color of Quilt Making’ which is sure to be informative and interesting. Quilt appraisals are available with the renowned Chris Moline and cost $5 each, although appointments need to be arranged with Dorothy Sebok. The proceeds from this year’s silent auction will benefit Dove Inc. and Homeward Bound of Decatur. Donations of small quilts, 30’ x 30’, or table runners, 18’ x 45’, are gladly being accepted for auction.

For those who make the quilts, registration forms are available online and all quilts must be pre-registered before March 16. All classes require pre-registration and payment before March 18. Those planning on selling quilts at the event should therefore get their latest business card printing order in ASAP.

The 33rd Annual Quilt Fest is free to attend and will take place on Friday, March 22 from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm and Saturday, March 23 from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm at the Decatur Civic Center in Decatur, Illinois, just a short drive from Champaign.
