Local area gets smart with art this weekend

November 12, 2013 by

Coming to the area this weekend is the Annual Art Fair, sponsored and hosted by the Craft League of Champaign-Urbana, which will offer a large selection of items available to kick off the holiday shopping season. Banner printing and other similar services may have been used to spread the word about this fair to residents across local communities.

This is the 31st year in which the fair has taken place, and brings a weekend event of plenty of shopping opportunities to people gearing up for the holidays. The fair will include such crafts as basketry and fiber work.

This holiday kick-off event should hit the spot for anyone who appreciates handmade items and has a passion for shopping for unique and interesting pieces to give to loved ones. The Craft League of Champaign-Urbana is open to people looking to promote the appreciation and knowledge of fine crafts and arts in these communities. The group also works on creating public awareness and encourages an exchange of ideas and information, while supporting local artisans.

The Annual Art Fair is free to attend and will be occurring this Saturday, from 10:00am to 5:00pm and Sunday, from 10:00am to 4:00pm at the Urbana Civic Center located at 108 Water Street in Urbana, Illinois, which is only a short drive from Champaign. To learn more about the event, or to arrange to be a vendor, please visit the Craft League of Champaign-Urbana website and check out its contact page.
