Show off your creative side with Peeps

March 5, 2012 by

The 5th annual PeepShow will take place at the Carroll Arts Center from April 5-15. Admission is free; the cost to take part in the event is $10 per entry. Proceeds go to support the programs of the Carroll County Arts Council.

The challenge is to find creative uses for Peeps marshmallow candy. Peeps have become an Easter staple and creative people have been finding more creative uses for them every year. The Peepshow will feature “marshmallow masterpieces” for display which will be voted upon; visitors will be able to buy vote chips to vote for their favorite creations. Those with the most votes win a prize pack. In addition, there will be Peeps-themed souvenirs and food to buy.

Contributions are welcomed from individuals, local artists, organizations and businesses. Creations can be

“dioramas, sculpture, mosaics, photography, stop-action film, computer generated art”

which can be no larger than 24 inches in size and must feature Peeps in some way.

Taking part in the PeepShow could be a fun thing for a company to do; it would foster creativity and raise morale amongst employees and management. It can be used as a team building exercise with everyone working together for a common goal. The company could come up with one entry or could hold a competition amongst the employees to choose the best idea to go forward with. The winners could receive a certificate of accomplishment; local Westminster printing companies can help with a design that is suitable for framing.
