Salisbury to host day of fishing for local heroes

April 23, 2018 by

An event that will say thank you to currently serving military personnel, veterans and first responders (as well as their families) by offering them a fun-filled day of fishing will soon be held in Salisbury.

The day will kick off at 7:00 am, when the guides and other volunteers for the occasion will have their kayaks organized by the water and ready to go. The fishers and families will arrive at 7:30 am, and will then head out to catch some fish.

The occasion has been planned for Newlands Park, which is located at 6901 Brick Kiln Road, and it will be held rain or shine. Those who plan on taking part are reminded to come dressed for the weather, and if conditions are really bad and the event has to be cancelled, they will be notified.

According to the organizes, the goal of the occasion is to help those who serve relax, reintegrate into their home community and find some peace and healing in the calmness of a day spent out on the water. Poster printing can be used to create materials that promote this type of occasion to the local area.

This special event will be taking place on May 5. The Heroes on the Water website can be contacted for more information.
