Help the Women of St. Mary’s

The eighth annual Women of St. Mary’s Peach Festival will take place at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church in Abingdon on August 4 from 11:00 am – 2:00 pm. All funds raised go towards the Women of St. Mary’s, which helps support local non-profit groups.

Needless to say, there will be lots of peaches to be had at the festival. However, there also be baked goods for sale, ice cream, a raffle for a painted children’s wagon, children’s carnival-type games, food such as hotdogs and pit beef, artists, and local vendors. Tours of the church will also be available for those who are interested.

This fun festival should draw people from all over the area, including nearby Pikesville. Vendors, who will be selling items to help raise money, will no doubt be working with local printing companies to help them prepare. Vendors need proper signage so those passing by know what they are selling right away. Alternatively, a vendor might want to hang a colorful banner featuring their company name that can be seen from a distance. Whatever they do, the goal is to both sell products and help the Women of St. Mary’s continue to help the less-fortunate in the community.

The Women of St. Mary’s is a volunteer organization. It meets once a month, holds fundraisers, and donates much of the money raised to between six and ten non-profit groups each year. It also raises money for restoration, packs boxes for departing college students, and delivers school supplies to local schools.
