Brighten up your February with fashion

The 5th annual Fest-of-all Gala and Fashion Show will take place at the Baltimore Museum of Industry on February 25 from 7-11 pm. Tickets are $75 in advance and $90 at the door.

This popular yearly event features great food from area restaurants, an open bar, a silent auction and a fashion show from local clothing stores; stores expected to take part include Pandora’s Box and Brightside. There will also be musical entertainment from the Real Geniuses. The silent auction features products and services donated by local companies such as merchandise or travel packages. Proceeds for the event will go to the Federal Hill Main Street revitalization project and microloan fund.

It is important that cities downtown areas are maintained and supported. People from all over the area, including nearby Pikesville, are very interested in supporting their local economies rather than their money leaving the community. Local printing companies help to support these stores by providing them with the marketing tools necessary to attract customers such as flyers and brochures.

In today’s poor economy, it is important that each community support their local stores. These stores create jobs, they bring money into the community and they help to create a vibrant and comfortable environment for those who live in the area. They also feature unique and original merchandise and fashion that you will not find in any of the national stores such as Sears or Wal-Mart; it will also be of much better quality and will often be locally manufactured.
