Think Pink and help your fellow women

The 2nd annual Pink Event will take place at the Holiday Inn Laurel on March 3 from 11 am-5 pm. Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door; 65% of the price goes to support the House of Ruth MD and the Maryland affiliate of the Susan G. Komen Run for the Cure. The first 75 people through the doors will receive a “pink swag bag” full of promotional literature and products.

The Pink Event, in addition to supporting the two women’s charities, is also celebrating National Women’s History Month. This is a “woman-focused” expo which showcases businesses run by women. The guest speakers for the event will by Jennifer Lucy Tyler, Vanessa Elam, Tiffany Moody and Yolanda Woodlee. In addition, there will be two information sessions on the House of Ruth and Susan G. Komen Run for the Cure. The event will also provide a free continental breakfast, product demonstrations, musical entertainment and lots of shopping opportunities.

Vendors appearing at the Pink Event will be selling merchandise such as jewelry, women’s accessories, hair salon and spa services, food, art and tax preparation services.

The expo might just be what some local area business women from places such as Laurel and Hunt Valley need to help get their companies known. They would be wise to arrange for business card printing services before attending the event. A business card can be included with everything that is bought or can be displayed on the table next to their products. It is just one more way of getting their company name out there.
