Glen Burnie to get on down with local band

April 4, 2014 by

Glen Burnie hoofers looking for a good time will not have to wait long, as dance band ‘4 on the with Overdrive’ will performing tunes from the ‘50s, ‘60s and ‘70s (in addition to country, doo-wop, disco, and Motown standards) later this month at the Moose Lodge.

When the group takes to the stage, Art Landerman will be on electric guitar, Edwin Cartagena plays bass, Jack McKenna is on drums, and lead singers will be Lauren Landerman and Randy Phelps.

Locally based Art and Lauren were formerly members of a church group, and have since expanded out to performing for other venues such as veteran’s events and car shows. Songs for the evening will include ballads such as ‘Moon River’ and ‘I Fall to Pieces’, along with classics such as ‘Wake up Little Susie’, ‘Will You Still Love Me?’, ‘Jet Plane’, and Spirit in the Sky.

The dance will be one of a series of evenings that Glen Burnie Moose #1456 will be offering enthusiasts during the upcoming months. Some people, including the event organizers, may want to visit local print companies to have flyer printing done to advertise the events.

The dance will be held Friday, April 25, from 7:30 pm to 11:30 pm in the lounge at the Moose Lodge, 1911 Crain Hwy, Glen Burnie.
