Find new sources for your sales in Frederick

The 2012 Frederick Procurement Fair will take place at the Frederick Fairgrounds on April 17 from 9 am-12 pm. The event is free to attend and is free for businesses to exhibit. The fair is presented by the City of Frederick Department of Economic Development and the Frederick County Division of Business Development and Retention.

At last year’s procurement fair over 180 small business owners and leaders attended to learn about procurement opportunities available from 15 of the city’s government agencies and large corporations including Frederick County Public Schools, Lonza, SAIC-Frederick and the City of Frederick Government.

Small businesses depend on continuously finding new opportunities and becoming a supplier for a government agency or service is often a chance to take their company to the next level of success. It is often confusing what exactly is expected to bid on public projects and information can be hard to find; an event like this allows business owners to learn what is expected and to find it all in one place.

The Frederick Procurement Fair will also be a good networking opportunity, not only with large companies but with your fellow small businesses. The smart small business owners will arrange for business card printing in advance so that they can give a card to everyone they meet and especially to those who can bring a lot of business their way. Also, they will make sure that those large companies or government agencies they talk to are aware of what exactly they can offer.
