Elected officials to meet businesspeople in Catonsville

October 19, 2012 by

The annual Legislative Luncheon is coming up fast and is presented by the Greater Catonsville Chamber of Commerce. It will be held at the Knights of Columbus hall.

The luncheon will allow Catonsville business leaders the chance to meet with their elected officials. It will start off with a recount of what happened at last year’s meeting and then the discussion of key issues of interest to local businesses. There will also be a question-and-answer session after all the representatives have spoken.

Last year’s luncheon covered such issues as upcoming bills, upcoming votes, city revitalization, and new buildings. It is often hard for individual business owners to have such an up-close and personal opportunity with elected officials, so the luncheon aims to help lessen that separation and allows them to ask the questions on their minds. It will also give them a better idea of what to expect in the upcoming year.

This will be the perfect networking opportunity for Catonsville businesses. No doubt those planning to attend will be arranging for business card printing in advance, as cards will need to be up-to-date. Networking at a luncheon does not involve hard sell but it does allow each person to exchange business cards and to deliver their 30-60 second elevator speech to the person sitting next to them.

This years meeting is scheduled for November 14, starting at 12:00 pm. Tickets cost $20 in advance for chamber members or $25 at the door. Non-members pay $35.
