Catonsville residents to gather for outdoor summer bash

July 6, 2013 by

Adults and children from Catonsville are gearing up for a summer day of food and family fun. In a week’s time, members of the community will be gathering in the open courtyard at Strawberry Fields for the Crabtown Throwdown.

Requests for banner printing have more than likely been on the rise as the planners and vendors involved in this event prepare for set-up on the big day.

Maryland crab will naturally be a prominent dish at the feast, but hot dogs, hamburgers, and other all-American favorites will be available as well. Attendees will also be able to purchase desserts, including cake and ice cream. Those over the age of 21 will have a chance to sample New Belgium beer.

There will be prizes and giveaways throughout the day. Adults will have the opportunity to enter raffles and win a variety of gifts from local businesses. A silent auction will also take place.

The event will feature a steady flow of live entertainment. Performers will include The Sundowners and (We Are) Stone Mason. These bands will cover a number of musical styles, including classic rock, mainstream alternative, and indie.

Outdoor enthusiasts will enjoy bicycle demonstrations, including two mountain bike skill shows. Kids will stay entertained as they play games and explore a ‘fun zone’.

The Crabtown Throwdown will be held next Saturday, July 13, at 821 Frederick Road. It will be open between the hours of 10:00 am and 5:00 pm. The event will be free to attend.
