Beltsville residents are invited to ring in the New Year by attending a fun-filled celebration in nearby Washington, D.C.

For the third consecutive year, the Washington Hilton hotel will be hosting the Downtown Countdown. Poster printing is bound to be on the rise as this four-star venue works to promote its upcoming holiday party.

All attendees will have access to plenty of hors d’oeuvres and a full dinner buffet. They will enjoy entertainment from six comedians and a number of bands, including Crowded Streets, Kristen and the Noise, Lloyd Dobler Effect, and the Pat McGee Band. Disc jockeys will be spinning hit tunes throughout the evening, and guests who like the sound of their own voices will have a chance to participate in a karaoke contest as well.

Those who purchase VIP tickets will enjoy additional menu options and receive more personalized attention from waiters and bartenders. They will also be able to attend private acoustic performances from several of the artists taking the stage during the event.

Just before the clock strikes 12, the entire crowd of partygoers will gather to participate in a countdown. At midnight, they will watch a balloon drop. The hotel will provide them with party hats, whistles, and other festive items to add to the excitement of the occasion.

The event will begin at 9:00 pm on Tuesday, December 31, and is open to attendees of 21 years of age or older.

The hotel is located at 1919 Connecticut Avenue, Northwest. Discounted rooms will be available for those who prefer to stay overnight.
