Visit the Inner Harbor and get your fill of art

The Inner Harbor Art Festival will take place near the Power Plant on August 18 from 10:00 am – 7:00 pm and August 19 from 10:00 am – 5:00 pm. This is a free outdoor event.

There are expected to be over 100 artists taking part in the art festival. They will be selling art of all genres, including photography, painting, ceramics, jewelry, and printmaking. Visitors will have the chance to speak with the artists, to view demonstrations, to buy something original, and possibly commission future works of art from an up-and-coming talent.

Artists must apply to be accepted into the festival and must submit examples of their work. Those who are accepted will no doubt be working with Baltimore printing companies to get ready for the festival, as these printing companies can provide banner printing, flyer printing, and business card printing services. Banners can be used to draw visitors to the booth, flyers can be handed out prior to the festival, and business cards can be handed out to those who wish to hire the artist in the future.

Art festivals are a good way to find out the status of the art community in an area. Art-gurus of all kind take part in festivals, with some just starting their careers and needing the exposure, while others are well established but want to increase their sales, not forgetting those who just enjoy the challenge of selling their artworks in a public setting. Festivals are also an excellent way to introduce the entire family to art appreciation.
