Christmas is coming up quickly and most people, especially the children, are getting excited about it. For those who love trains, the B & O Railroad Museum is celebrating with the Holiday Festival of Trains and Toys. Not only will a real Civil War era train be showing up but Santa Claus, Mrs. Claus, and Frosty the Snowman will also be visiting. It should be a great way to celebrate the holidays and organizers are no doubt working with Baltimore printing companies to advertise what is sure to be a popular event.

There will lots of activities in which to take part during the festival, including photographs with Civil War era Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus, several model train layouts, train rides with both Santa and Frosty the Snowman, holiday exhibits such as prints of Thomas Nast, dance performances, and choirs. There are various charges for the activities, with holiday photos being $12 for two 5×7 photographs, train rides $3 for adults and $2 for children ages 2 – 12, and carousel rides are $2 each or $5 for unlimited rides. Wooden train ornaments will be on sale for $1 each.

The Holiday Festival of Trains and Toys will take place from November 23 – December 31. Admission is $16 for adults, $14 for seniors, and $10 for children aged 2 – 12, while members of the B & O Museum will be admitted free of charge. Donations will be accepted for Toys for Tots and those who donate a new, unwrapped toy will receive $1 off admission.
