Baltimore gearing up for shamrock-themed festivities

A lively St. Patrick’s Day celebration is set to return to Baltimore. In just over a week’s time, the city’s Waterfront Partnership will be hosting the Shamrock Shindig for the third straight year. Banner printing has likely been on the rise as the vendors participating in this festive event continue their preparations for the big day.

The party will occur at Pierce’s Park and offer non-stop entertainment for attendees of all ages. Children will be able to eat sweet treats, play games, and meet a friendly leprechaun in their own Shamrock Alley. Adults will have a chance to sample drinks and hear live Celtic music. This year’s main performer will be Barleyjuice, a band based in Philadelphia. A number of food trucks will be parked on-site, giving visitors a variety of snack options.

The Shamrock Shindig is scheduled for Sunday, March 16. It will take place at 300 East Pratt Street and run from 10:30 am until 2:00 pm. Admission will be free, and children’s Shamrock Passes will also be available for a fee. Kids whose parents purchase these packages will receive gifts like green beads, Irish flags, temporary tattoos.

Attendees will be encouraged to remain in the area after the Shindig to watch the St. Patrick’s Day Parade. The procession will begin at the Washington Monument at 2:00 pm, marking its 59th year in Baltimore.
