Wynwood Life festival to light up Miami

Miami is a city brimming with local culture, and the upcoming Wynwood Life Street Festival is looking to celebrate it.

Building off last year’s event, Wynwood Life brings artists, musicians, cooks and more from around the South Florida area to Miami’s Wywood neighborhood.

Miami’s art scene will be highlighted, with the headline events being the Back Alley, where live street art will constantly be created, and the Raw Project, an exhibition of a program helping underprivileged kids discovering art.

Over 20 local musical artists will be taking the stage to perform. What organizers describe as “The Greatest Collection of Food Trucks Ever” will be on hand to demonstrate Miami’s diverse cuisine. The festival looks to attract people from around the Miami metro area, including surrounding cities such as Hialeah and Aventura.

The highlight for many will be the market, featuring fashion and crafts from local producers. Street festivals provide opportunities for local artisans to get their wares out to the general public.

Without the reach of large commercial chains, these producers — whether they be small businesses or talented amateurs — often turn to local print shops for flyer printing and other local advertisements to get the word out.

The event takes place between April 20 and 22 at the Wynwood Marketplace. Admission is free, but an RSVP is required to attend.
