May 26, 2017 by

A Day of Merrymaking, the Overton Park conservancy annual family festival, will be returning early in June. Children and dogs will be welcome.

Games and arts and crafts activities will be available for everyone. Kids can come in their bathing suits so they can run through the many water-based activities, which will include a water slide and water tag maze.

The event will have 12 food trucks that will be offering ice water, Italian ice, ice cream, and other summer concessions.

Over 25 local vendors will be selling everything from pottery, crafts, and jewelry, to wind chimes and art. An Overton Park Community Farmers Market and Sobremesa Farms will be selling fresh produce. Other booths will be the International Student Exchange, Wootton Family Chiropractic, Cricket Wireless, and the Streetdog Foundation.

Live entertainment will be provided by Nick Black, Red Hot Lindy Hop, Zigadoo Moneyclips and Teneia. Fans may want to check with their favorite entertainers to see if they can purchase any of their promotional products.

The Overton Park Conservancy booth will be handing out free water bottles to the first 500 guests- compliments of TVA. It will also offer free water at its refill station.

The event is slated for June 3 from 10:00 am until 3:00 pm at the Overton Park Conservancy Greensward, 2080 Poplar Avenue, Memphis.
