Chamber summit provides updated information for lawyers

The HR Legal Summit is taking place next month in Memphis, presented by the Greater Memphis Chamber of Commerce’s Small Business Council.

Emceed by Judy Bell and Austin Baker, the day will start off with several discussions on topics such as discrimination and harassment and leaves of absence. These will be followed by a panel discussion that will touch on pregnancy discrimination, immigration, and an American with Disabilities Amendments Act (ADAAA) update. After the panel, there will be time for a question and answer session.

There will be a break for lunch that will include a talk by keynote speaker Philip A. Miscimarra.

The discussions will continue after lunch and will include subjects such as diversity in the workplace and sexual harassment.

The summit is an opportunity for those who need them to earn Continuing Legal Education (CLE) credits. Also operating as a networking opportunity, no doubt most of those attending will be bringing along their premium business cards obtained from a Memphis printing company.

The HR Legal Summit will be held at the Memphis Botanic Garden on October 12 from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Tickets are $90 for Chamber members and $200 for nonmembers or $50 and $75 for lunch only. Fees for those wanting CLE credits are $125 or $250. Contact Tunga Lee at 901-543-3500 to learn more.
