Equestrian school invites all Melville residents to free festival

The Thomas School of Horsemanship is holding a Fall Family Festival that is open to everyone in the area that would like to attend.

Anyone that loves horses, pumpkins or family-friendly events will find plenty to keep them happy at the Thomas School festival. The event will include horse-drawn carriage rides, pony rides, and a number of carnival games.

Families can pick their own pumpkins to take home and carve or decorate together at the festival, or bring a lunch and enjoy some quiet time in the scenic picnic area or enjoy a hayride around the grounds. A playground, face painting, and a jumping pillow will also keep kids busy during the festival, as well as many other activities. A school horse show – one of two that are held each year at the school – will also be taking place on the premises during the festival.

Parents are welcome to bring their cameras and get some fun, memorable photos of their children for poster printing or holiday cards. The festival will take place on October 22 at The Thomas School of Horsemanship at 250 Round Swamp Road in Melville. It is scheduled for 11:00 am to 3:00 pm. There is no admission charge, but some activities do require a small fee to participate. Contact Janine Innes-Ortiz at 631-432-3114 with any questions.
