The Washington County Community Foundation in Pennsylvania is currently offering $156,000 to students in the surrounding areas who might meet certain requirements.

For example, those who are in the McMurray area might qualify for a $1,000 scholarship if they are actively involved in community service, or are planning on pursuing an engineering degree at their college. There are scholarships for a variety of different categories as well, ranging from those pursuing degrees such as graphic design, to those who may receive money simply for living in McGuffey County. The amounts that may be awarded run from as little as $50, all the way to $38,000 in certain cases.

In order to be considered for the scholarship, applicants must complete and electronically submit the application that can be found on the Washington County Community Foundation’s website. Applicants must also send in physical FAFSA student aid report copies and their transcripts to the Washington County Community Foundation office, which is located at 1253 Route 519, P.O. Box 308, Eighty Four, PA 15330. Both of the applications and the paperwork must have been received by the foundation by April 1st in order to qualify for a scholarship.
