Peters Township kicking off holiday season

December 8, 2017 by

Peters Township, also known as McMurray, Pennsylvania, recently kicked off the holiday season with its annual tree lighting and holiday party on December 3.

Now that the holiday season has officially begun, the township will be hosting several more holiday events over the course of this month.

The first event is called the Candy Cane Hunt. Reserved for children from ages three to five, this will be a fun candy cane scavenger hunt taking place outdoors, if weather permits. Once the hunt is over, it will be followed by an indoor celebration featuring hot chocolate, crafts, and holiday music. This event will be taking place on December 14th from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at the Peters Township Parks & Recreation Center in Venetia. The cost to register a child will be $5 for members and $8 for nonmembers. Registration must be completed by December 12th.

The second event is called Parents’ Night Out, and will allow parents to do some last-minute Christmas shopping and enjoy themselves while kids have fun playing gym games, making crafts, and eating pizza. This event will be available for children ages five to ten and will be taking place on December 15th from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the rec center. The cost to register a child will be $10 for members and $15 for nonmembers. Registration for this event must be done by December 13.

For more information about the upcoming events, downloadable flyers can be found on the Peters Township website. To register a child for an event, visit the Peters Township community pass website.
