Peters Township hosting clean up event

April 13, 2018 by

Peters Township will be hosting a Great American Clean Up Day for residents throughout the township who wish to make a difference in the environment later this month.

In addition to this effort, the township will also be hosting a special recycling event on the same day to help residents get rid of any electronic waste or waste products that cannot normally be thrown into their trash bins.

Those who choose to volunteer will be given a location to clean up, a trash bag, a safety vest, and gloves. Volunteers can either show up at the event or register beforehand.

The Great American Clean Up Day will be taking place on April 21 starting at 9:00 am. Visitors are requested to meet at the Peters Township Recreation Center in Venetia, just a short way from McMurray.

The special recycling event will be taking place at the Public Works Garage in Venetia from 9:00 am to 12:00 noon. The items that will be accepted for free include television monitors, car batteries, and scrap metal. The only items residents will be charged to recycle are car tires, for which residents will have to pay a fee of $3.

For more information regarding the event, or to see flyers for those who would like to do their own flyer printing, visit the Peters Township website.
