Participants being sought for annual McKinney holiday parade

November 15, 2016 by

The Rotary Club of McKinney has organized its annual Christmas Parade of Lights, and it has put out a call looking for anyone who may be interested in taking part.

The event will see an assortment of floats, and marching bands taking part. Businesses, organizations, schools, and even individuals are welcome to join in the fun by creating a float of their own.

The theme for this year’s parade is ‘The Gift of Christmas’, and those who will be putting together a float or other entry are encouraged to add plenty of colorful lights to their creation. Prizes will be awarded for the best entries.

The entry fees from anyone who is interested in participating will be used to help fund the various charitable activities that are sponsored by the Rotary Club. A complete listing of the fees that are being charged for the different types of entries are available on the event’s website. A company that produces ad specialties can supply items to give out to those who come out to watch the parade go by.

The event will be held on December 10, starting with the arrival and lineup of those who will be taking part, which has been planned for 5:30 pm. The deadline to register an entry at the regular fee is November 29, and anyone who registers between that date and December 4 will be charged a late fee of $25.

The website that has been set up for the parade contains both registration forms and further details about the event.
