New virtual reality center storms into Marlborough

MindTrek, a tech company that specializes in virtual reality systems, recently opened a free-roam, virtual reality arena at the Apex Center of New England in Marlborough, Massachusetts.

This new arena, which is located on the third floor of the Apex Center, consists of two rooms with 2,000 square feet of space in which to play. This can be turned into a large 4,000 square space for larger groups as well.

Powered by the Zero Latency company, the arena allows people to move around a virtual world as it tracks the sensors on their weapons and headsets, allowing for a more immersive and free virtual reality experience. So far, many of the games available are first-person shooters against enemies such as zombies, robots, and drones.

David O’Connor, co-founder of MindTrek, said in a statement:

“The Apex Center, with its wealth of entertainment options, is the perfect location for us to debut our new location. Virtual reality at home can be isolating and sharing the experience with a group in our gaming arenas is a real game-changer, no pun intended.”
